While Square Enix is developing a completely new Dissidia Final Fantasy game with Team Ninja,  they’ve put up a teaser for their Final Fantasy XIV fans that are waiting for the upcoming Heavensward expansion.

Featured above, the new teaser is not indicative of a new game, but it’s pretty damn convincing. The trailer is a “what if” characters from the MMORPG were thrown into a fighting game. Final Fantasy XIV main scenario writer Kazutoyo Maehiro handled the production of this video.

Square Enix also made a point in saying they have no plans to add a fighting game component to the game. Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is set for a June 23rd release, worldwide.
