Square Enix Presents Spring 2021 Premieres March 18; Features World Premiere of New Life is Strange

Square Enix Presents Spring 2021

Square Enix have announced the Square Enix Presents Spring 2021 digital-direct, focused mostly on their upcoming western games.

The presentation has the world premiere of a new Life is Strange game as top billing, along with Outriders, Marvel’s Avengers, Just Cause Mobile, Balan Wonderworld, and more making up the 40 minute presentation of announcements and trailers.

Balan Wonderworld is one of the few Japanese titles on the list; though we may see more from Capcom’s sister company Taito Corporation. Due to its omission, we are unlikely to see anything on Final Fantasy XVI.

There will also be new games revealed from Square Enix Montreal, and the celebration of the Tomb Raider 25th anniversary. The Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy had leaked via the Microsoft Store; a collection of the rebooted series of games.

While not formally announced, the game was listed as launching March 18th. This was likely to be revealed during the presentation, as the release date is the same day as the presentation itself.

Along with Crystal Dynamics having previously stated they aim to “unify” the rebooted games and the original series as part of the series’ 25th anniversary celebrations, there is also a Netflix animated series in the works.

The discussion of Marvel’s Avengers is likely to include the game’s future content. Even so, it may be a hard sell with mounting dissatisfaction from players. We recently discussed if the game is going free-to-play; amid changes to progression, cosmetic acquisition, and losses for Square Enix.

Square Enix Presents Spring 2021 premieres March 18th at 10 a.m. PDT via Twitch, and YouTube.
