It seems like Square Enix is finally coming to the realization that traditional RPGs can be profitable, and that people around the world still enjoy them.

Now, we’ve caught wind of Square Enix opening up a completely new development studio, one that is entirely devoted to making home console RPGs. Yes, you read that right – console RPGs. The actual disclaimer reads: “recruiting core members for a new game development studio to develop a brand new home console RPG.”

No further details were announced, but there’s a whole bunch of open positions at the new studio. In total, there are roughly a dozen open positions that run the gamut from marketing director to lead effects designer.
