Square Enix Let’s Play Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Demonstrate How Battles Work

After yesterday’s Final Fantasy live stream, Square Enix uploaded a gameplay video for Type-0 HD styled in the form of a Let’s Play. Here we get to see Machina, Cater, Eight, Queen, and Cinque of Class Zero put through their paces. Watch the demonstration above.

It’s pointed out that Type-0 HD‘s battles are real-time instead of turn-based but still require strategy, as players must think about who they take into battle, which of those characters they control, what those characters should do, and where on the field the party members are positioned.

(As an aside, Type-0 HD‘s combat is fairly representative of how Final Fantasy XV was supposed to play, before the character switching was nixed.)

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be coming to North America and Europe soon, on March 17 and 20, respectively, for the Xbox One and Playstation 4.
