Despite Square Enix’s Heavenstrike Rivals being launching on Android last week, the company has gone and confirmed the game for a worldwide release.

The game is coming to both iOS and Android devices, and it features a battle system that is tailored for smartphones, specifically. In the game, you can recruit hundreds of unique characters and strengthen them in both PvE and PvP battles.

We also learned that Heavenstrike Rivals is actually a western developed game, crafted by U.K. developers Mediatonic LTD (known for Amateur Surgeon). It was a collaborative effort with the Japan-based Yumriu Corporation. The character designs are by Ryoma Ito (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance) and music composition is provided by Ryo Yamazaki (Final Fantasy XIV).

A beta for the free to play game is currently available in both Canada and Australia, although it will launch globally this winter.
