Square Enix has announced a Deep Insanity cross-media project, which includes the Deep Insanity: Asylum game, the Deep Insanity: The Lost Child anime, and the Deep Insanity: Nirvana manga.
Here’s a rundown on each new Deep Insanity entity:
- Deep Insanity: Asylum is described as a PC and smartphone RPG, and will launch as a free-to-play release with in-game microtransactions. It will launch sometime in September 2021 for Japan across PC (via Steam), iOS, and Android.
- Deep Insanity: The Lost Child is the TV anime adaptation, with a premiere window set for October 2021 in Japan. Production is being handled by Silver Link, and key staff include designers Makoto Fukami, Norimitsu Kaiho, and Etorouji Shiono, director Shin Oonuma, series producer and screenplay writer Kento Shimoyama, character designer Kazuyuki Yamayoshi, music director Fumiyuki Go, and the Future Ancient Orchestra handling music production.
- Deep Insanity: Nirvana is the manga adaptation, and it has already begun regular serialization in Monthly Big Gangan magazine. Square Enix is releasing the manga volumes separately on September 25.
