• Square Enix Announce Dragon Quest Builders, a Minecraft-like, Block-Making RPG

    Square Enix have revealed their own take on the Minecraft-formula in the form of Dragon Quest Builders.

    The new game is currently in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita, and is set to launch in Japan some time this winter.


    Featured above, a single screenshot for the game was revealed, alongside a brief description. Players will be tasked with rebuilding the world of Alefgard (where Dragon Quest 1 takes place), which has been destroyed by the Dragon King.

    You’ll do this via collecting, assembling, and building things out of blocks, entirely at your own discretion. The game is dubbed a “block-making RPG,” so perhaps there’s more of a focus on story? For now, you can visit the game’s teaser website here.
