Square Enix has announced they’re merging/absorbing Tokyo RPG Factory, their newer yet retro-RPG focused studio.
The new merger/absorption (via Gamebiz) was dated January 31st and will see all of Tokyo RPG Factory, assets and rights, inherited by Square Enix and the developer will cease as an independent subsidiary.
Tokyo RPG Factory was launched back in 2014 and went on to release several throwback RPGs inspired by the “golden age” of JRPGs, including: I Am Setuna (2016), Lost Sphear (2017), and Oninaki (2019).
