Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Purple Lamp Studios announced next-generation ports for Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake alongside a free update.

Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 as a free upgrade for current owners on Xbox One or PS4. A release is set for October 16th, and a free update will launch on the same date.

Here’s a rundown on what’s coming in the new ports, the free update, and a new trailer:

PlayStation5 + PlayStation4:

  • New Feature – Photo Mode! Apply one of 19 different filters to enhance your pictures.
  • New Costumes
    – New costume “King Doubloon” for collecting all doubloons is now available.
    – New costume “Plush Gary” for unlocking all awards is now available.
  • Improvements
    – Support of DualSense controller audio output when picking up items.
    – Support of DualSense adaptive triggers when using reef blower and swinging hook actions.

Xbox Series X/S + Xbox One:

  • New Feature – Photo Mode! Apply one of 19 different filters to enhance your pictures.
  • New Costumes

Bug Fixes (all platforms)

  • Fixed a rare bug where saving stopped working.
  • Fixed a bug where the playtime did not pause while on a loading screen.
  • Many general bug fixes to improve stability and playability of the game.
