Developer 1047 will be shutting down dedicated servers for Splitegate on August 29th as they shift focus on rebuilding Splitgate 2.
But fear not, the game is not being killed! 1047 have decided to show the gaming industry how it’s done and will be moving Splitgate server to peer-to-peer system instead.
They released the following statement on their news page last week:
“Starting August 29, the original Splitgate will be moving to peer-to-peer as we focus our resources on rebuilding Splitgate 2,” the team said. “We know this game means the world to so many of you and we’re not about to let that disappear. This means you’ll still be able to play matches and experience the magic that made Splitgate special, just in a different way.”
The original Splitgate launched via early access in May 2019 for Linux and Microsoft Windows on Steam, followed by Xbox One and PS4 ports in 2021 and current-gen ports for Xbox Series X|S and PS5 later that year.
Splitgate 2 is set to launch later in 2025 across Windows PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.
