
Developer 1047 Games has announced they’re relaunching Splitgate 2 as SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded, a totally overhauled version aimed at bringing back that “classic arena shooter” feel.
Splitgate 2 will be relaunched as SPLITGATE: Arena Reloaded later this month, on December 17th for PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.
“Splitgate has always been a love letter to the arena shooters we grew up playing,” said 1047 Games Design Director Josh Watson in a press release. “We’ve been hard at work rebuilding the game from the ground up, taking the best of Splitgate 1 and Splitgate 2, removing what didn’t work, and refining what did.”
Watson previously served as the Game Director for Epic Games’ Rocket League before joining 1047 Games shortly after Splitgate 2 entered beta earlier this year.
1047 Games has spent the previous year incorporating lots of community feedback, conducting public playtests of experimental builds, and sharing results with players. “The community led us back to the arena,” said 1047 CEO Ian Proulx.
