A few months ago, Nintendo had teased a big update that would be coming to Splatoon later this summer. Now we have all the details for the upcoming update.

The new update will include two new modes, Squad Battle and Private Battle. Squad Battle essentially allows you to party up with your friends and face off against other inkling squads. Private Battle will let players customize their game modes with up to eight players.

They will also add two new weapons, the Slosher and Splatling (which can be viewed above), and an increase for the level cap to 50 (it was previously 20) and will increase the ranks to S and S+ (max was A+). Finally, players will also have 40 new pieces of gear for new customisation options.

Nintendo have also teased a new ranked game mode, Rainmaker, and more new weapons and maps.

The update will be released on August 5th for North American players and August 6th for Europe and Australia.
