Subterrestrial is a retro-inspired RPG platformer made by The Foolish Brave. The game seeks to harken back to the early days of RPGs and platformers, with classic mechanics and retro JRPG-influenced music.
The plot is as follows: mysterious kidnappings have begun to occur in the town of Neria, affecting humans and livestock alike. With the plantlife failing, and their neighbors disappearing, only a few townsfolk remain willing to stand by their town until the bitter end.
Cue Ozma and Ry, traveling fox demon and magic swordsman, who come across the town, and decide to investigate what is plaguing the villagers. Entering the mythical forest, Divinity’s Playground, they prepare for their greatest battle yet in the underground city contained within.
The game will contain giant boss fights, an, “epic plot containing gods, deception, and character development,” and interactive towns and NPCs. You can download the beta demo here, as well as follow The Foolish Brave’s official game blog.
There does not seem to be a release date as of yet, but if that changes, we’ll keep you guys posted.
