Space Dandy is a downright awesome looking anime from Cowboy Bebop creator Shinichiro Watanabe, and it just so happens to already have a video game adaptation. The anime won’t premiere until early next month, but Namco Bandai is already working on a game for the series.

Titled simply Space Galaga, the game is …. literally a reskinned version of Galaga. The only notable changes are characters from the anime showing up in the game, bosses in the game coinciding with villains from the show, and the ability to get different ships as well.

Space Galaga is set for release sometime next year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they time it just right so it launches alongside Space Dandy on January 4th, or on January 5th for fans in Japan.
