Sony’s Head of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida has taken to twitter to respond to fans’ questions again, this time in regards to the Dualshock 4’s lightbar, and whether or not a future update will allow users to disable it:
When fans pressed him, stating that the lightbar clearly uses up more power, he shot that down as well:
So it seems like despite lots of fans claiming the Dualshock 4’s iffy battery life is the result of the lightbar (powered by different colored LEDs) being always on, Sony is thinking otherwise.
