Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan has filed a bunch of new trademarks for the next few decades of PlayStation consoles.
The company has filed trademarks (via @piercesword, Gematsu) for “PS6”, “PS7”, “PS8”, “PS9” and “PS10”. This is most obviously a move to avoid trademark trolls and things like that, but it’s certainly interesting to see they went all the way to the PlayStation 10.
It’s worth pointing out that Sony filed the trademark for PS5 back in 2006, only to finally release it sometime in holiday 2020.
