Sony to Continue Making Physical PS Vita Games in Japan

Following the news that Sony Interactive Entertainment was ending physical PS Vita game production in North America and Europe, many enthusiasts of the Sony handheld feared it meant the end for all physical game production on the console. Now, we’ve learned the Japanese branch of the company will continue making carts for the device.

An interview via Japanese site Game Spark confirmed that while physical game production in the west is ending sometime in March of next year, the Japanese arm of Sony will continue physical PS Vita game production.

PlayStation Vita first launched back in 2011 for Japan, followed later by North America and Europe in 2012.
