Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia has announced their corporate president and director Atsushi Morita is retiring.
The Sony Japan boss is retiring due to old age, and will be succeeded by Kazuhiko Taekda as the new corporate director. The company has yet to name a new president, however.
The announcement comes after Sony Worldwide Studios chairman Shawn Layden announced his departure as well.
It’s worth pointing out October 1st is the start of the second half of each fiscal year for most Japanese companies, so it makes sense for them to announce change ups in leadership and such at this time.
