We’ve learned why Sony has been so reluctant to show off more of their much-delayed and yet still anticipated The Last Guardian.

In an interview with Gamespot during Paris Games Week, Shuhei Yoshida went on record to say that Sony has been and will continue to deliberately hold back footage for The Last Guardian.

From the interview:

Development is going well, but because it’s about the story, we don’t want to show too much[…] We wanted to show that it exists, it works, it runs. It’s not like we won’t show anything before launch, but I think we will try to limit what we show about the game.

While they said they won’t be showing any new footage, just don’t expect to get a whole lot of details any time soon.

The Last Guardian is set to launch sometime in 2016 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
