Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced they’ve appointed Hideaki Nishino as their new president and CEO.
Nishino will be appointed the new president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment this year on April 1st, succeeding interim president Hiroki Totoki who took the role after Jim Ryan resigned.
Previously, both Nishino and Studio Business Group CEO Hermen Hulst were appointed together as two new leadership positions to replace Jim Ryan. Hulst will report directly to Nishino under the new leadership change.
Nishino will continue to serve as the CEO of the Platform Business Group alongside Hulst who will lead development, publishing, and business operations across all of SIE’s first-party content.

Sony also announced Totoki will step down from his role as SIE Chairman to become president and CEO of the entirety of Sony Group Corporation. Sony Interactive Entertainment SVP, Finance, and Corporate Development and Strategy Lin Tao will also step down to become CFO of Sony Group.
