Sony Confirms They Bought Nixxes Software to Help With PC Ports

A month ago Sony acquired Nixxes Software and at the time speculation went wild they were ramping up for more PC ports. Now, Sony confirms they bought Nixxes Software to help with PC ports.

The news comes via an interview with Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan, who said they’re happy with their previous PC ports, however they’ve just taken the first steps towards more of their games coming to PC.

“We are also happy with our efforts to provide our IP to PCs, although it is still in its infancy, and we look forward to working with Nixxes to help with that,” Ryan said in an interview with Famitsu.

While Sony confirms they bought Nixxes Software to help with PC ports, so far Sony has been reluctant to bring most of their first and second party games to PC – most argue this is done in an effort to bolster sales of their PlayStation hardware.

The only big titles they’ve brought to PC thus far include Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone, with the former hitting PC in August of last year and the latter hitting PC in May 2021. Each game was finally brought to PC years after their initial releases on PlayStation 4.
