In a report by Japanese outlet Nikkei, Sony Computer Entertainment Senior Vice President Masayasu Ito has gone on the record to say there is a possibility for PlayStation VR to support PC users in the future.

The currently PlayStation 4-only device will naturally be focused on a launch for the company’s home console – it’s deeply integrated into the PlayStation 4 ecosystem. However, the Sony boss said the potential is there, citing the similar innards of the PlayStation 4 to that of modern PCs.

Ito did stress that a PC release for the device won’t happen right away – they have to focus on games running via the device on the PS4. Despite this, Ito said there will be new opportunities for the device.

PlayStation VR is set to release sometime this October, for PlayStation 4.
