Developer EndNight Games has announced yet another delay for Sons of the Forest, pushing the game into 2023.

The sequel (or prequel?) has a new release date set for February 23, 2023. Announced in 2019, Sons of the Forest has gone through multiple delays in its multiyear development cycle.

First it missed its 2021 launch window, bringing themselves to a May 2022 release date. Then it ended up being delayed again to October 2022.

“Due to the scope of our new game Sons Of The Forest, it has been hard to pinpoint an exact release date, and today we have to delay one last time.” the developer said in a statement. “Giving us time to complete the polish we feel is needed, we will release February 23, 2023.”

Hopefully their point of having to delay the game one last time is correct and the game will not suffer any more delays moving forward. Of course, plenty of unforeseen things could happen that could further slow down development.

This is unlikely, however, as it appears they’re more at the stage of polishing the game rather than adding in more content or putting in things that have already been promised. While we still know little about the game, it appears to be a sequel to the popular survival game The Forest.

Sons of the Forest is now expected to launch on February 23, 2023 for PC (Via Steam).
