Indie developer JamnotesGames has announced Sonic Valkyria: KANON, a new music-themed rail-shooter they have in development.

Sonic Valkyria: KANON is in development for Windows PC (via Steam) with a release set for sometime in 2026. The game will be playable at BitSummit 2025 from July 18th through the 20th.

Step into the shoes of Kanon, an ordinary girl who suddenly becomes a magical girl. Use the power of music and magic to save a world on the brink of collapse!

Main gameplay methods

• Lock-on beam – Consume the MP gauge to lock on and fire the beam. The MP gauge recovers automatically.
• Shield Guard – While holding down the guard button, you can deploy a shield and guard by consuming MP.
• Charge shot – While locked on, you can fill up the charge gauge for a powerful charge shot. Use a charge shot to wipe out enemies with high health.

Use these actions strategically depending on the situation on the battlefield to save the world!
