Not sure whether to be really excited or not. I want a Sonic Generations 2, but I’ve been letdown before. Hell, we’ve ALL been letdown before.

July 22nd seems a bit late to announce a game that’ll be out around October/November but what do I know? Sonic Team haven’t released anything in about 3 years so maybe it’ll be good, or maybe not – Sonic Team is incredibly bipolar.

We’re talking about a developer that will crap out something like Black Knight and then give us great stuff like Colours and Generations right after, then make a so-so game like Lost World.

Lost World while not great was atleast fun at parts If they shit out another game as bad as Sonic Boom they probably all need to just be fired by Sega

Honestly I’m not sure why Sega hasn’t gotten with Nintendo, more specifically with Miyamoto, to make a 3D Sonic game.

Sonic Team didn’t even make any of the Boom games. Those games were all outsourced like DmC was.

Yeah I heard. In that case, the main team has been working on something for the last 5 years now. If they deliver something on par with those two games but with twice the development time… Oh my…

I think the main team was the one that made Sonic Runners actually.

25 years, with 20 of them being utter rubbish. Truly an occasion worthy of celebration.

I actually really liked Black Knight.

    March 21, 2016 at 6:16 am

    Please be Adventure 3.
And have Ian Flynn write the story.
And get rid of Roger Craig Smith. (Bring back Jason Griffin)

Why do we need Generations 2?
Wouldn’t it be better to move on with other plots and levels than just harping on old ones?

    March 23, 2016 at 4:35 pm

Well this is a good way to look at Sonic’s history. Plus Generations had a couple of original levels and its own story.

What original levels? It was all a lookback at past levels. And the story was minimal at best. Personally, I think it fit the game in a way, but it’s not something I want to continue in following games. Granted, I also don’t want the narratives to be tangled cobwebs like ’06, but a nice balance like with Adventure 1 and Unleashed will do just fine.
Look, I’m not against the idea of a Generations 2, but I think it’s far too early to have one, considering the game’s only five years old. Give it a few more years at least, is all I’m saying. Try something different for an anniversary title.
If you want to make a game that honors Sonic’s history, that’s perfectly fine. But try to take a different approach to it please?
Like, how about if the plot is that Sonic returns to South Island with Tails, Knuckles, and Amy after who-knows-how-long to reminisce on early adventures, when Eggman, with the help of Metal Sonic, decides to try and take over the island one more time, and the whole things essentially becomes a 3D remake of Sonic 1 with added characters (I’d also like Shadow and Silver in there, but that may just be me), new levels, new bosses, new music, and special appearances by some of Sonic’s other friends to offer side missions and mini-games?
Or if not that, how about a complete remake of Sonic Adventure 1 built from the ground up like Capcom did with Resident Evil?
I’d much sooner see something like those than Generations 2, is what I’m saying.

    March 23, 2016 at 6:06 pm

Well some of the bosses were new content.

Generations was the best Sonic game in recent memory and gave and overview of the past games. This is why I suggested a sequel for the anniversary.

Since you are not against the idea of Generations 2, I honestly don’t see the problem here. You may want something different and that is OK.

    March 23, 2016 at 8:28 pm

not only that, It also had one of the best stories out of any Sonic game.
