Sega have released a Jun Senoue remixed boss track from the upcoming action platformer Sonic Colors Ultimate.
As previously reported, the original Sonic Colors launched in 2010 for Wii and Nintendo DS. Sonic pursues Dr. Eggman to his Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park; a seemingly altruistic endeavor hiding him destroying planets from across the universe and harvesting the energy of alien creatures called Wisps.
Sonic can use these Wisps to boost through stages, or gain incredible transformations to move blast through levels and foes; such as Laser, Drill, Hover, Spikes, and Frenzy. New improvements include races against Metal Sonic, customization options, the new Jade Ghost Wisp, improved graphics, and a fully remixed soundtrack.
Sega have previously promoted upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog games by sharing samples of their soundtracks on YouTube (as with Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania, and Team Sonic Racing [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]). Along with a Aquatic Park Act 1, Sega have now revealed one of the game’s remixed boss tracks.
The boss theme for the Rotatatron and Refreshinator has been remixed by Jun Senoue; lead guitarist for Crush 40 and having worked on Sonic music since Sonic the Hedgehog 3. You can find it below.
Sega released the Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary Symphony; celebrating the series’ milestone and music. The digital concert also included a medley of Sonic Colors music, and covers of Reach for the Stars and Speak with Your Heart (the game’s main and credits theme respectively).
Sonic Colors Ultimate launches September 7th for Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store, and Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
