Sega has revealed Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice for the Nintendo 3DS.
The game is set for a release exclusively on the handheld later this year, and it’s developed by Sanzaru Games, the studio that handled Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal on the 3DS.
Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is yet another single player game in which you can experience different story portions, characters, and more, from the Sonic Boom universe. Sonic and crew will take part in a new journey that will put them up against Dr. Eggman, and a new super villain: D-Fekt.
As the subtitle suggests, the game is going to focus on both fire and ice elements in all of its gameplay, including character moves, and environments. You’ll be able to blast through at full-speed, or take a more calculated look at exploring and solving puzzles.
Finally, there’s a new “Bot Racing” mode added, which is described as a supplemental mode that is tied to the main story mode, only with multiplayer gameplay. The new mode is reportedly “purely about racing and speed,” upon which users can unlock new bots to use in future races, or challenge their friends.
