Sol Cresta: Hideki Kamiya’s Very Sorry Stream Premieres Today

Sol Cresta Hideki Kamiya's Very Sorry Stream

PlatinumGames have announced the Sol Cresta “Hideki Kamiya’s Very Sorry Stream;” promising new information about the game.

As previously reported, PlatinumGames had previously set up a teaser website in 2020 for four major announcements. Their fourth of what would be five announcements was an April Fool’s joke, a fake teaser for a Sol Cresta arcade machine. This would be a sequel to the 1980 arcade game Moon Cresta, and 1985’s Terra Cresta.

One year on, PlatinumGames officially announced Sol Cresta. As in Moon Cresta, players can collect other ships to dock and improve their own with more fire-power. Taking cues from Terra Cresta, players can have each ship enter special formations, or form a mighty burning phoenix. The game will also be the first part of PlatinumGames’ “Neo-Classic Arcade Series.”

While the stream promises more information from Creative Director Hideki Kamiya, Producer Takahito Washisaka, and Director Takanori Sato; the focus seems to be over an apology. This may be because the game will be delayed from its upcoming release date, or merely a joke that will be elaborated during the stream.

PlatinumGames had previously announced Sol Cresta will also feature the Dramatic DLC campaign, featuring a story by Kamiya.

The livestream will begin today at 8 p.m. PST (11 p.m. EST). You can find it below, and can check in with us after the show for all the info.

Sol Cresta launches December 9th for Windows PC (via Steam), Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
