Patch 2.1 for Snowbreak: Containment Zone has launched, but for those playing through Android, they are unable to update and play the game as of this writing.
According to a moderator on the game’s Discord, the update was rejected by the Google Play Store due to “image resources [being] inappropriate.”
This means players on Android are unable to update the game and therefore even play it right now, as the update is required.
The developer said they are working as quickly as possible to resolve this issue and will provide compensation to players once it’s been fixed. How this will be fixed is currently unknown.
If those working Google moderation services clearly state whatever inappropriate images cannot be allowed, it’s possible said material may be censored for the Android update’s release.
For now, Amazing Seasun Games recommends those who game on Android to go to one of the other platforms the game is available on, such as iOS or PC.
Snowbreak: Containment Zone has seen a shift in it’s tone and presentation since launch, which has caused some amount of controversy complaining about their pandering to the “male gaze”. The English voice actors for the game have also refused to return to working on the game due to this shift as well.
Despite this, the developers have stated they remain committed to this vision, though it remains to be seen how this new issue will be resolved by them.
Snowbreak: Containment Zone is available now for iOS, Android, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
