Skywind’s New Envision Trailer Shows Off New Textures & Tilesets

By now you are probably aware of Skywind and its lofty promise of bringing beloved Elder Scrolls entry Morrowind into the modern visual age by running it in Skyrim’s engine. Though we’re not going to see it available for download any time soon, that hasn’t stopped the game/mod/total conversion’s developers from keeping us updated with some very gorgeous and informative videos.

The latest of these videos is the new “envision” trailer, which gives us an idea of what Skywind’s new landscapes will look like. Particular attention is now being given to the West Gash area, where Morrowind’s flora is shown in full display. Adding new lighting, texture-work, shadows, and allowing for more densely clustered plant life has breathed new life into the area, as is evident in the video’s images.

There’s even a brief example of new armor that has been made for the mod’s unique NPCs which are being added. These NPCs will also be given their own recorded dialog, which the developers hope will make them feel more natural of an addition than is usually the case with NPC mods.

No date has been given (Naturally) for Skywind’s release, though it does seem to be progressing at a very rapid clip for something as grand as a total conversion. You can help speed it along by donating to the project, and keep up to date on its progress via its website.
