SkySaga Brings Minecraft Building and MMO Action Into One Seamless Experience

The new SkySaga from Radiant Worlds and Smilegate Entertainment is likely to have Minecraft fans clamber after a chance at trying this new “sandbox” game.

SkySaga will be an “endlessly evolving sandbox” online world that will be driven entirely by it’s players. While striving for bigger and better equipment, players will be shaping the world around them Minecraft-style, through building and destroying things as they go about their business.

The game’s systems are built around allowing a player to progress how they want to, whether that be through exploration, crafting, building, fighting, whatever: players will be able to decide how they go about becoming a legendary hero. The game will allow players to quest alone or together, exploring rich environments while discovering new and exciting new lands.

You can get a taste of some in-game footage in the “gameplay trailer” (which … sort of lacks gameplay) below:

The entire game-world is a procedurally generated, voxel-based landscape full of dungeons and resources for players to hunt down. Between digging for minerals, chopping down trees for lumber, hunting animals for food, and building homes in order to escape dangers, there will be no shortage of things to do and accomplish.

In addition to all of that, there will be PvP arenas for players to test their skills against others. Players will face off with their own gear and weapons, and be able to utilize their building skills for tactical advantages during the bout, too.

SkySaga is set for release in summer of 2015.
