While Capcom previously said that porting Monster Hunter: World to the Nintendo Switch would be “difficult,” there’s a developer out there chomping at the bit to get the go-ahead to give it a shot.
The news comes via Iron Galaxy Studios CEO Adam Boyes, who Tweeted:
“Dear Monster Hunter team at Capcom – we understand that porting the game to Nintendo Switch is challenging but this is exactly what Iron Galaxy Studios does. Give us a shot & we won’t let you down.”
It’s worth pointing out that his team are the folks responsible for cramming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim onto the hybrid console – and a fine port it certainly is (I’ve played it extensively with almost no problems).
However, Skyrim is a much older and less demanding game, so porting a current-generation game like Monster Hunter: World is another challenge entirely.
Would you like to see Monster Hunter: World on the Switch in some shape or form? Is it even possible? Sound off in the comments below!
Monster Hunter World is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release set for sometime this fall. In case you missed it, you can find our review for the game here (we highly recommend it!).
