In a move that’s sure to make lots of fanboys and girls squeal with nostalgic glee, Lab Zero Games have confirmed that they’re adding a typing mode to Skullgirls Encore, the upcoming re-release of the game on Playstation 3, PC and Xbox 360.
The new mode, called simply Typing of the Skullgirls, mixes up the gameplay in lieu of testing your typing skills. In Typing of the Skullgirls, normal attacks do small amounts of damage, while super attacks are the main route to winning a match. You automatically fill your super meter as you fight, but unlocking a super move requires successfully typing out the phrase that pops up on screen.
If you successfully type out the phrase within the allotted time limit, you’ll do 150% percent of the damage of your super move, which is sure to devastate any opponent. If you fail to type the phrase entirely in its correct form, you’ll do normal damage, and if you fail entirely you’ll do only 10% percent of the super move’s damage.

Typing of the Skullgirls will be available for use against bots in both Arcade, Story, and Versus mode for fighting players locally.
