Skibidi Toilet movie and TV franchise in the works by Michael Bay

A new Skibidi Toilet movie and TV franchise are in the works, based on the bizarre and controversial internet video sensation set in a war between Toilet people and Cyborgs.

If you were born before the year 2000 you probably haven’t actually watched Skibidi Toilet but it’s become a worldwide sensation, with over 65 billion views since its launch in February 2023 by lone creator Alexey Gerasimov.

To frame things into more coherent and less brainrot speech, Skibidi Toilet is an animated series using Garry’s Mod characters and models, most of which are based on Valve’s Source game engine and content from Half-Life 2.

While the actual Skibidi Toilet series consists of 1 to 5 animations on YouTube, the new proposed Skibidi Toilet movie and TV franchise are being helmed by Transformers director Michael Bay and former Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman (via Variety).

“We are absolutely in talks right now, both on the television side and the earliest conversations right now on the film side,” Goodman said. “But it’s not a be-all, end-all for us.”

Since the original video posted by Gerasimov back in early 2023 to his YouTube channel DaFuq!?Boom!, titled simply “skibidi toilet,” featured a head popping out of a toilet and singing. This is apparently what younglings crave as since then his videos have raked in hundreds of millions of views.

Bay and Goodman run a “Tra-digital” independent studio called Invisible Narratives, who they say will produce new and memorable film/TV adaptations similar to their former blockbuster releases. Official merch for Skibidi Toilet is coming too, with the help of Invisible Narratives.

“I will say that Michael and Jeffrey Beecroft, who’s his longtime production designer and a colleague of his that’s worked with him on all of his movies, have been working very closely with Alexey to really professionalize the kind of back engine of this, to make sure, if we ever decide to go film or television, that this is kind of lifted beyond just the resources that creators have on the internet,” Goodman added.

It seems the Skibidi Toilet movie and TV franchise are in early talks as neither Bay nor Goodman would mention any production studios to handle the adaptations. However, they envision the adaptations as a hybrid of animated and live action, styled like the John Wick or District 9 movies.

“If we find a partner in this that really believes there’s opportunity for this to grow and to really see the storytelling grow and for this to be where we hope this can be, then film and TV seems like a natural extension for us,” Goodman said.
