It seems like Sony Computer Entertainmen’s survival horror series, Siren, is getting a manga adaptation. The news was confirmed via a tweet from PlayStation Japan.
The manga series will be called Siren: The Call of the Red Sea, and it’s being made to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary. The manga is being drown by horror manga artist Wataru Kamio, and it will feature a new storyline set within the Siren universe.
In case you’re worried that it might be a weird story, the entire production is being overseen by veterans of the series, including the director and creator of Siren, Keiichiro Toyama, and scenario writer Naoko Sato. Both Toyama and Sato have full editorial control over Kamio’s work.
This is actually the second manga adaptation of the franchise, the first one being Siren: Eternal Siren, which saw publication in Japan back in 2005.
Siren: The Call of the Red Sea will be published in iterations over the next several months, the first of which is launching in the upcoming spring issue of Shin Mimibukuro Atmos, a manga oriented magazine that releases every quarter in Japan.
