Publisher Binary Haze Interactive and developer Adglobe have announced TOKYO SCRAMBLE, a new single-player puzzle action game where you fight creepy dino-like Zinosaur creatures.
TOKYO SCRAMBLE is in development for Nintendo Switch 2 and is launching this month via the eShop, on February 11th.
“We envisioned something very different for the Nintendo Switch 2, something that takes full advantage of the hardware’s GameShare and GameChat for up to four players, yet is still incredible for solo players,” said director and producer Makoto Yamamoto in a press release. “The end result is Tokyo Scramble! Whether played alone or together, it is a journey through a Tokyo no one has ever seen before. We look forward to seeing how players help Anne escape the threat of the Zinos.”
Here’s a rundown on the game, plus its reveal trailer:
Story
In this survival puzzle action set deep below Tokyo, clear thinking and split-second decisions could mean the difference between life and death.
One day, high schooler Anne is on her way to meet up with friends, when her subway car abruptly plunges through a fissure in the earth. When the 18-year-old comes to, she finds herself in a strange and unfamiliar land. Unbeknownst to Tokyo’s residents, an underground world lies beneath their city’s surface. Terrifying creatures that evolved from dinosaurs roam this unknown place, creatures that Anne nicknames “”Zino.”” Trapped amongst them, any sound she makes might as well be a dinner bell…but Anne isn’t about to become Zino food! She’ll need her wits, her trusty smart watch, and the support of her friends to make it out—or she’ll be the one to end up extinct!
Gameplay
TOKYO SCRAMBLE is a survival puzzle action game set deep underground. When Anne awakens after an accident, she finds herself in a network of subterranean caverns overrun by Zino—mysterious creatures that resemble dinosaurs. Left stranded in this hostile environment where only the strong survive, Anne’s only hope is to find a way back to the surface. As her journey continues, Anne comes face-to-face with a diverse and deadly roster of Zino. With her sights set on the light filtering in from above, Anne must rely on her wits to flee, distract, and fight back however she can. But does she have what it takes to escape this prehistoric world alive?
Designed around the Nintendo Switch 2 system’s unique features of GameShare and GameChat, Tokyo Scramble offers flexible cooperative options. Players guide the protagonist, Anne, through a dangerous underground Tokyo, using her trusty smartwatch to distract, disturb and trap enemies. One copy of Tokyo Scramble and up to three players can join via GameChat, offer advice, or assist through shared controls. Additionally, for those who want to face danger alone, the entire adventure can be solo from start to finish. There are no weapons in Tokyo Scramble, so players must observe, explore and use their wits to make it out alive. Do you have what it takes to help Anne reach the surface before she’s the one who ends up extinct?
