Silent Hill f content warning teases disturbing story with gender discrimination, graphic violence, more

Silent Hill f

Hot on the heels of Konami fully revealing their long-awaited sequel Silent Hill f, we’ve learned the game will not pull any punches in terms of graphic content.

While the big reveal has the game’s first trailer, story details, and more – its official website includes a warning that Silent Hill f won’t hold back with its disturbing content.

“This game contains depictions of gender discrimination, child abuse, bullying, drug-induced hallucinations, torture, and graphic violence,” reads a warning on the game’s official website.

The warning continues, “This game is set in Japan in the 1960s and contains depictions based on the customs and culture of that time. These depictions do not reflect the opinions or values of the developers or any individuals involved.”

Such warnings have become commonplace around the world, even in Japan, like in the case of popular Japanese drama/comedy series Extremely Inappropriate! from last year. Set in the Showa era of Japan (the 1980s), every episode includes a warning prior to the show:

“Although this show contains inappropriate dialogues and smoking scenes, we dare to use the expressions used in 1986 in light of the characteristics of this show, which depicts changes in language, culture, and customs over time,” that warning reads.

Silent Hill f is in development for Windows PC (via Steam, the Microsoft Store, and the Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, though a release date wasn’t announced.
