If you’re eager to know (and see) more of the Siege of Dragonspear expansion for Baldur’s Gate, then you’ll have your chance, since Gamespot has just published the opening cinematic to the game as well as a snippet of game footage in the same video. The intro briefly introduces Caelar Argent, the mysterious crusader who is leading a “holy army” across the Sword Coast.

Other than the dramatic intro, there are two other things to note which happen afterward. One of those happens to be the new pop-up journal notifications which you can see appear at the top of the screen near the introduction of the gameplay portion of the video. The other, and perhaps more exciting of the two would be the voice that belongs to the “hooded man” NPC. Could that be Joneleth? Perhaps a pre-exiled Irenicus? It certainly does sound and speak like him.

We’ll find out once the game launches this March 31st.
