Publisher 2K and developer Firaxis Games have announced Sid Meier’s Civilization VII VR, a new virtual reality version of the latest in their strategy series.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII VR is in development for Quest 3 virtual reality headsets and will launch sometime this spring, via the Meta Store.
The non-VR game Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is in development for Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, and PS5 with a release set February 11th 2025
“Today is truly a milestone for the Civ franchise, with the announcement of Civilization VII VR marking our first entry into the immersive world of virtual and mixed reality” stated Dennis Shirk, Executive Franchise Producer at Firaxis Games in a press release. “We’re just days away now from the full launch of Civilization VII and look forward to ushering in a new era of strategy excellence for our fans!”
Meta Director of Games Chris Pruett added, “With the recent release of Meta Quest 3S and our strongest games and entertainment portfolio yet, it’s an awesome time for mixed reality. Civilization VII – VR is further evidence of that momentum: it’s a genuine Civ experience made specifically for deep strategy fans.”
