Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok

An official anime adaptation for Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok has been announced and will premiere sometime next year.

Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok began as a manga series in 2017 by writers Takumi Fukui and Shinya Umemura, alongside artist Ajichika. The series is being animatd by studio Graphinica.

Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok follows the events of the proposed end of humanity by a convocation of gods from across multiple pantheons. The convocation, led by Zeus has decided that humanity has grown too arrogant and and selfish and needs to be destroyed.

However Brunhild, one of the Norse Valkyries provokes the gods into invoking “Ragnarok”. Ragnarok, in the context of the series is a fighting tournament between men and gods where champions from history are called to face divine opponents in a bid for their survival.

Despite the supernatural drama of the gods trying to destroy humanity, the series is dominated by powerful fights between legends such as Lu Bu, Jack the Ripper, and Adam against gods like Shiva, Poseidon, and Thor.

An official western release for Shuumatsu no Valkyrie: Record of Ragnarok has not been announced at the time of publishing. The series will premiere in Japan sometime next year.
