Shuuichirou Moriyama has passed away of pneumonia at the age of 86. Moriyama is largely known for his leading role as the titular Porco Rosso in the Studio Ghibli film of the same name.

According to the actor’s official Twitter account (speculatively under the control of his manager); Shuuichirou Moriyama has passed away at the age of 86 due to a case of pneumonia. Moriyama’s notable voice acting roles include Porco Rosso, Sakaki Hyobu in the film Ninja Scroll, and the Aoba Baseball Director in the series Captain, among others.
