OPUS: Prism Peak

Shueisha Games has announced they’re publishing the latest installment in the OPUS series, OPUS: Prism Peak.

Developed by SIGONO, the new narrative adventure game OPUS: Prism Peak is in development for Windows PC (via Steam) with language support for English, Japanese, and Chinese. A release date wasn’t confirmed.

“Shueisha has deeply influenced my childhood and adolescence,” said producer and narrative designer Brian Lee. “I have been a loyal fan for years. The establishment of Shueisha Games thrilled me. I hope this Taiwan-Japan collaboration will elevate the OPUS brand to new heights.”

Shueisha Games producer Masakazu Kobayashi added, “I am delighted to announce our partnership with SIGONO at the Taipei Game Show! We’ve been discussing this joint development behind the scenes since last year. Combining SIGONO’s exceptional storytelling with our company’s strength will create a powerful synergy. The game is still being developed, but stay tuned for more updates! (And between us, I almost cried after hearing the story outline.)”

Here’s a rundown on the previously announced game:

OPUS: Prism Peak is driven by a plot-oriented, multi-ending adventure narrative, invites players into a phantasmagorical world. Get lost in a mesmerizing realm where every step you take leads you to an unknown path. To find your way home, you’ll have to rely on your photography skills to unravel the world’s mysteries.

The game’s narrative is penned by Lee, the writer of “OPUS: Echo of Starsong,” an honorable nominee for the Narrative Award at the Independent Games Festival in 2022. The team will also enlist the talents of frequent collaborators, Triodust, the composer of the “OPUS” series, and Quality Sound Production to highlight the games’ emphasis on music and sound effects.

The development team promises that “OPUS: Prism Peak” will inherit the spirit of the “OPUS” series. Set in a sorrowful yet warm atmosphere, the game tells a moving story of self-discovery. Look for more updates on the game as development progresses.
