    Shozo Iizuka, the Japanese voice actor between Nappa and Android 8 from the Dragon Ball franchise along with dozens of other roles has passed away at the age of 89.

    According to Oricon news he passed away on February 15 due to acute heart failure.

    Iizuka is known for voicing gruff yet loveable characters like Android 8, and he also voiced the old man Carl Fredricksen in the Japanese dub of Pixar’s Up.

    Iizuka is an industry veteran whose first credited role was in the 1960s classic Astro Boy.
