Showcased during Day of the Devs at Summer Game Fest, the upcoming title Shot One Fighters, from Red Moon Workshop, combines traditional fighting game mechanics with run-based progression and randomized upgrades.
Instead of selecting a fully built fighter from the start, you’ll gradually create your moveset during each run. New attacks, counters, combo tools, and special abilities can be unlocked as you progress, allowing players to experiment with different fighting styles every time they jump in.
The game also features more than 100 artifacts that can dramatically alter gameplay. Some offer powerful bonuses while others come with unusual drawbacks, creating plenty of opportunities for unique builds and unexpected strategies.
One of the more interesting aspects is the involvement of fighting game veterans Justin Wong and JMCrofts, who have helped shape the combat experience. The goal is to make the game approachable for newcomers while still giving experienced fighting game fans plenty of depth to master.
Alongside its roguelite systems, Shot One Fighters promises a fully voiced sci-fi adventure, dozens of events and NPCs, and a massive mech hub that evolves as you progress through the story.
There’s no release date yet, but the game is already available to wishlist on Steam. Here’s the new trailer:
