Shenmue III to Skip E3 2017, Delayed to 2018

Ys Net has announced both a delay for Shenmue III, as well as confirmation the game won’t be at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

The game will forgo its planned release sometime later this year for one in the second half of next year – something many fans were expecting. Featured above, you can view a new video update with series creator and game director Yu Suzuki.

Suzuki noted the game has grown in scope and beauty moreso than he ever imagined, and as such they need more time to finish up development on the game. Furthermore, Suzuki and his team at Ys Net have revised the game’s development schedule, and have pushed its release back. Further details are coming in a new Backer Report later this month.

Shenmue III is cuirrently in development for PC and PlayStation 4.
