Ys Net has shared (also to Kickstarter backers) new screenshots alongside a development update for Shenmue III.
The new screenshots reveal the game’s development progress in a variety of environments. The above screenshot came with the caption: “A fight breaks out at the morning market!?”

The company also opened up pre-orders for the PC version, which you can hit up over here. Ys Net made a point in saying that pre-order sales from the PC version (as well as the PlayStation 4 version) will help towards the game’s originally planned stretch goals.
Here’s an update on the game’s development, via series creator Yu SuzukiL
R&D for various game elements is on course as the development team shifts its focus towards production. Main game scenarios are nearing completion, motion capture tests are well under way, and voicing tests with the cast have begun. Yu-san and the production staff are happy to say they are enjoying the work as they continue to diligently make progress on the mini-games, events, and battles.
“I have been absorbed in developing the game and I stay in the studio all night time to time,” said Yu Suzuki. “My life is all about Shenmue day and night.”
These are new, still work-in-progress visuals and are subject to change.
Finally, Ys Net is going to poll backers again towards next summer, in regards to back reward preferences and shipping information – leading us to believe the game will be launching soon thereafter, as noted in our previous report.
Shenmue III is currently in development for both PlayStation 4 and PC.
