When Ys Net confirmed Shenmue III would be exclusive to the Epic Games Store despite having the game listed for a Steam release, many fans were understandable frustrated. Now, the developer is looking into whether or not they’ll keep it off Steam.

The developer posted a new Kickstarter update this past Friday in the form of a joint statement from Deep Silver, Epic, and Ys Net.

“We want to make sure that the Backers are aware that we are listening to their concerns,” the update reads. “We kindly ask all our fans to have some patience, we are currently at E3 demoing the game and need to get back to our respective offices to assess the situation and together find a way forward to justify the trust you placed in us.”

That’s all we have to go on for now – here’s hoping they’ll reconsider the game being exclusive to the Epic Games Store.

Shenmue III is launching for Windows PC and PlayStation 4 on November 19th.
