Ys Net has confirmed another delay for Shenmue III.

The game was planned for a release in the second half of this year – it’s now set for a release sometime next year. Previously, the game was set for a release in late 2017, only to be delayed into this year.

Over on the game’s Kickstarter, Shenmue III director Yu Suzuki posted an update where he explained the delay:

“To all of our backers, we are very sorry for the delay. After much discussion with our partners, Deep Silver, we have concluded that extending the release will allow us to deliver Shenmue III at its best. We promise to use this time to improve the quality of Shenmue III.”

Whenever it’s released, Shenmue III will be available for Windows PC and PlayStation 4.
