We covered the Indiegogo campaign for Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn back when it first launched in early March of this year. For those who missed that, we’ll give you a quick recap of the game’s legacy, as well as how far it has come since then.
Shaq-Fu was released in 1994 starring a young man you may have heard of. The game was hoping to ride on the shoulders of this big man, but the game was released with many shortcomings.
The mythical game is returning as Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn, and it looks amazing as it’s promised to not be anything like the old version. The game will be released on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, XboxOne, and Wii U.
Big Deez Productions has partnered with Shaquille O’Neal, who is an avid gamer himself, to make Shaq-Fu what it should have been the first time around.
Big Deez also wants us, the people, to be executive partners and help make the game right along with them. Their goal is to make the game about gameplay, unlike in the 90’s where they based it all on a popular celebrity/athlete.
The developers and Shaq himself are going to be giving out a lot of great perks for people who support this project. You can get a signed ball, shoe, or a golden Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn SNES copy of the game.
It gets better though, you can also pledge and get Shaq to record your voicemail, a chance to ball it up with Shaq at his house, or you and two friends will go to TNT studios to have lunch with Shaq and watch the taping of NBA on TNT.
Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is currently on Indiegogo until May 5th, 2014, and it has currently accumulated close to 80% percent of its funding goal. Definitely stop by and check out all the awesome perks and support this legend.
