WayForward has announced a release date for Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, the long-lost sequel to the original game.
Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is launching for the Game Boy Advance, Windows PC (via Steam), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, PS4, PS5 on August 19th.
The game was also confirmed to get a Deluxe Edition, coming alongside the Standard Edition, for all platforms. The Deluxe Edition brings with it the above three exclusive costumes (not sold separately) that change Shantae’s appearance and bring new abilities: the Relic Hunter Costume powers up Pike Ball attacks, the High Voltage Costume powers up Storm Puff attacks, and the Sizzle Armor Costume powers up Fireball attacks.
A physical version of the game was also announced, via Limited Run Games. It will include all of the Deluxe Edition content on cartridge or on disc, and preorders will launch on August 8th.
Here’s a rundown on the previously announced game, plus a new trailer:
Shantae is back in a 2D side-scrolling action-adventure game 20 years in the making! The nefarious pirate Risky Boots has a “groundbreaking” new plan that will leave Sequin Land spinning — by rotating the continent, she can move any town right to the coast for easy plundering! As Shantae, turn the tectonic tables on Risky by taking control of the land itself: shift, twist, navigate, and explore by swapping between mix-and-match multilayered levels! Hair-whip and belly-dance your way through scrambled lands, misplaced towns, monster-filled crypts, and daunting labyrinths. Six creature transformations, fierce boss battles, and a 4-player versus mode await!
Key Features:
